Slow connection on Satellite.

I am using Netsystem Satellite. I am a webmaster and when downloading files from my hosting account, i get such speed as 0,5kb. I hear with satellite it works with multithread or something like that, if i go onto 56k connection i get downloads at 5.6kb, much better. Is there an option to enable for sat connection ?
