Default help site-2-site

hi all,

I can't get my serv-u sites (both sites are mine and use the same .ini file) to FXP to one another or to other known working FXP-able sites.

when I try, it returns an error

550 PASV mode not allowed on this server
and then it issues a ABOR command and transfer fails

I checked the settings via Serv-U admin and there is nothing in the settings that should stop the sites from FXPing.

"Bounce FTP attacks" is unchecked
"PASV" port range is blank , so basically use any available port(s)
max num of users allowed is 15
always allow login is on for the A/c doing the FXP

it's weird because in my FlashFXP I have disabled PASV everywhere ( individual sites settings and in general settings), also switched the sites to alternate FXP.... yet during site-to-site it keeps trying to set one or the other server to PASV.

any ideas?

PS : no firewall blocking either site

when you FXP one site MUST use PASV while the other MUST use PORT. you tell one site "tell me to which ip/port to connect"(PASV) and the other site "connect to this ip/port"(PORT)

"alternative fxp" let's you deside which site will use PASV/PORT

as for specifics of serv-u, i don't know i don't use it. either look for some guides or somebody here will help you.

Serv-u supports PASV mode, you must Serv-u configured in such a way that it's unable to use PASV mode.
