I know about WinSCP, that is what we primarily use, but it isn't nearly as stable or polished as FlashFXP. Also, PuTTY is open source but doesn't use the GPL, so you can include it and distribute your program without violating the
license.
IANAL but that is how I read their licence, which seems pretty simple. "Open source"/"free software" != GPL, though I understand the confusion (and used to think the same way). Of course this doesn't fix the C/Delphi problem.
