LIST & STAT-L produce no list of any files at all. MLSD produces a list of all files except symbolic links.
Did you change this setting while connected to the FTP server?

There is a pending bug report indicating that this doesn't work and that you must reconnect for it to take effect. I haven't had a chance to investigate this issue yet.
