this is what i found from the support forum

If you are able to ping the server, the most likely cause of the "Connection Failed" message is a software firewall on your computer that is blocking FlashFXP from connecting to the internet. Please check any software firewalls you may be running on your computer and ensure that they have FlashFXP listed as an exception. If they already have FlashFXP.exe as an exception, please
try manually removing the entry and then re-adding it or allowing the firewall to re-add it the next time FlashFXP is used. it was the windows firewall that did this and im sorry with all these posts but thanks again for a great program!!!
