an unexpected error occurred while saving your application data

FlashFXP 5.0.0 (build 3788)

I'm simply importing settings from flashfxp4.

Creator is somehow modifying files (for example ca_root.pem 73->907kB) but looks like everything is working fine when manualy copying setting files.

Re: an unexpected error occurred while saving your application data

Hello,

Thank you for letting us know that you encountered this error.

Were you using the backup/restore configuration feature when this error occurred?

If yes
  • What specific version/build of FlashFXP created the backup?
  • Did you have an application password set to protect your data files?

Or were you prompted to import your existing settings on startup which lead to this error?

Basically this error means that FlashFXP failed to copy or replace one of the data files, this could be due to a number of things such as file permission denied (ACL), write access denied (read-only), or the the content within the data file didn't make any sense (corrupted or invalid password)

The ca_root.pem file is dynamically created from windows CA certificate store, this file is non-critical and automatically re-created when needed.

Re: an unexpected error occurred while saving your application data

I'm importing settings without backup/restore after removing all files from \AppData\Roaming\FlashFXP\5

All files have the same chmod, hope this snapshot will help (notice that quick.dat, Stats.dat and of course Bookmarks.dat are smaller than original).
