Can't Login SSL error

Hello,

an FTP that i use all of a sudden no longer allows me to login due to an SSL error,

[L] 220 vsftpd
[L] AUTH SSL
[L] 234 AUTH SSL successful
[L] Connected. Negotiating SSL/TLS session
[L] SSL ERROR: unknown protocol
[L] Failed TLSv1.2 negotiation, disconnected
[L] Failed SSL/TLS negotiation, disconnected
[L] Connection failed (Connection closed by server)
[L] Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #1


FTP using Explicit SSL (AUTH SSL) SSLv3 is the option i have selected in my site profile

is there anything I can do or is the ftp server I am accessing not compatible with Flash?

Try changing from the SSL protocol version from SSLv3 to TLSv1.2 and try again.

the other thing to note, i guess, maybe its not a problem.. when FXP starts up first thing that shows up is:

FlashFXP 4.4.4 (build 2046)

I upgraded to the latest version and now it says this..... i guess the problem is with the server??, no way for me to connect at all via FLASH?

I feel this happened across one of the updates of FlashFXP, it had previously worked.... Anyway, let me know if there is anything else to try?

For FTP using Explicit SSL (Auth TLS) there are 4 modes, auto, SSLv3, TLSv1 and TLSv1.2

Auto will attempt to use TLSv1.2 and fallback to TLSv1 or SSLv3 for servers that don't support TLSv1.2.

Your two failed attempts indicate that SSLv3 and TLSv1 are not supported, did you try selecting TLSv1.2?

If that doesn't work then maybe the server isn't configured correctly?

[R] TLSv1.2 encrypted session using cipher key-removed (256 bits)

It would seem my old version of FlashFXP didn't have that option ... Perhaps an update removed TLSv1.2? Cause it used to work just fine with the old version

Anyway, problem's resolved, this one can be.

TLSv1.2 support was officially added in FlashFXP v5.0

Previous versions of FlashFXP did not support TLSv1.2, however there were a couple experimental v4.x beta releases with limited TLSv1.2 support. Due to compatibility issues this was abandoned so we could focus exclusively on FlashFXP v5.0.
