Re: count for marked items

Currently we don't keep track of the number of marked items within the listview display, we could add this functionality but it will add additional processing to keep track of the number of marked items which would need to be done every time the listview content changes.

Basically the marked list would need to be compared against the listing. If the marked list had for example 100 items worst case scenario would be 100 compares per list item, with a listing of say 1000 items, this would mean (100 x 1000) 100,000 comparisons. This could result in negative performance on a local file listing with 1000 items where files are being downloaded and the file listing is refreshed every few seconds.

As a result this may create a bottleneck in some situations slowing down FlashFXP.

If this is a feature that users are interested in seeing then I will be happy to add it.

Re: count for marked items

Please do not add this, the potential performance hit far outweighs any gain and the information can already easily be obtained.

The better solution to finding out how many items in the current folder are marked is to use the Select Marked option, Shift+Ctrl+S. Then the selected items information in the browser info bar will also be representative of the marked items. A behavior I have been using for many years.
