Windows Filesystem Extension - FTP Servers as Folders

Hi!

I have been using FlashFXP for years (since the FXP days ;-). It works good, but I was always looking for the following feature:
  • Make a Windows filesystem extension that creates a virtual folder (c:\FTP-Sites for example).
  • Display for each FTP account in the sitemanager a virtual subfolder (map the sitemanager folder structure, c:\FTP-Sites\work-sites\client-website etc.)
  • If any program accesses the folder, connect to the server and display the directory listing as virtual files.
  • process the I/O operations from windows transparently (read, write, delete, create, folder actions...)

I could then install FlashFXP, add all the ftp-servers to the server manager and work with my favorite php/html/css editor directly on the server. I could also download and upload to the ftp servers with any windows tool! I could even sync servers with directory sync tools!

I know that this can be done with only moderate effort. There are even (open source) projects and libs out there that do half of the work already:

http://www.ferrobackup.com/ftpuse/
http://www.netdrive.net/

But they both map only to a drive-letter (I have more than 25 ftp servers...).

http://dokan-dev.net/en/about/ provides a file-system filter that can be programmed in any language. there is even a demo-app for c# available that maps an ftp server to a folder! but that is not the full feature set I want.

I would pay 200$ to your coffee fund if you could implement that special feature for FlashFXP. It could even be a separate module that is sold separately.

Thanks and Best Regards!
Chris
