Open different file types with specified programs

Currently only plain text editors can be specified, but what if one wants to edit a picture on the server with his/her favorite image editor? In this regard, the file manager XYplorer handles this problem very well (see http://www.xyplorer.com/tour/index.php?page=pom)

What I wish is simply being able to specify "open with" applications for each file types, not only a generic text editor, for files stored on the server side.

Already exist in Options, File Associations.
