Default Custom.vfs ioFTPD 5.85

Hi, been trying to get a custom.vfs file to work for some of my members, used the command:

Quote:
SITE CHANGE <username> VFSFILE ..\etc\custom.vfs
(replaced username accordingly before anyone suggests that!)

When I try the account out I get:

Quote:
USER elite
[R] 331 Password required for elite.
[R] PASS (hidden)
[R] 530 Login failed: The operation completed successfully.
[R] Connection failed
[R] Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #1
Can anyone shed any light on what may be going on and suggest a solution? Thanks.

Just checked the error log and get:
Quote:
07-16-2005 21:24:09 User 'elite' does not have access to root directory.
But what exactly does that mean I have to do - its a slightly cut down version of the deault.vfs

Q: What does "530 Login failed: The operation completed successfully." mean on login ?
A: Check your .vfs (admin.vfs or default.vfs)
The first line (your / path) has an invalid real path, or you simply didn't define a / mount point.
Also make sure you didn't delete ioFTPD\text\ftp\login.msg
