Default server crash

hi,

i've installed ioftpd beta 5.8.4 and the following scripts were running:

ioA;stormlog; stormRULES; stormshownfo; sc;

ioftpd and those scripts were running fine till i stopped ioftpd once and restarted it from command prompt.

well, it runs fine.. but when i enter 2 certain dir in root the server crashes.. i can enter all other dirs and do all site commands ..
but i just can't enter 2 certain dirs..

i read this: http://www.ioftpd.com/kb/view.php?kbid=77
and also read some other postings about ioftpd crashes.. but didn't came to a solution..

hope someone can help..

thank you..

Delete the .ioFTPD files in those two directories. This bug is fixed in the upcoming version of ioFTPD.

edit: there are no error logs in /logs ...

and thanks alot for the quik answer

edit 2: now i tried starting ioftpd with a clean ini and have the same problem.. i think it's not a bug in ioFTPD... i think m$ takes once more the responsibility...

well i'll try it one more time tomorrow...

Use drwtsn32.exe (in your windows\system32 dir) activate it let it run then start io and let it crash. In the drwtsn32 log you'll see which script has crashed..

jimid, it's more then likely that you have not deleted all the .ioFTPD files.

If you have any VFS directories mounted in the FTP root, you must remove the .ioFTPD files from there as well (including sub-directories!).

For those who don't knows, run this command in your root directory or in every "base" directory of your FTP. It will recursively delete all .ioftpd files:
del /s /q /f *.ioftpd

Run ioFTPD not as service but normally and try again. Then drwtsn32.exe sghould be able to tell you where the error occurs.
