Default Problems uploading to GuildFTP

I run a Guild FTP server at home during the day so I can send things from work to my home using FXP. But I am not able to FXP to my site, it crashes immediately upon trying to upload. I can upload, but not FXP. Any ideas?

This is all I get in the client.

if i understand your problem correctly it seems like it's a problem with your server...seems like it doesn't like PASV mode. try using alternative fxp mode.

and that would be by choosing the 2 little check boxes in site manager under options? I have tried both checked, both unchecked, download only checked, and upload only checked I get the same thing with all 4 options.

Any other suggestions?

Thanx

and why is it trying to enter pasv when I turn it off? does FXP require PASV?

Are you accessing via a proxy server/firewall? If so, then this could be the problem associated with PASV.

the site is behind a linksys router, but I can connect to it and upload all day long as long as I am uploading locally.

Work has no known proxy, I have no settings here for the browser or anything but since we are on a fake IP Range 10.xxx.xxx.xxx I am going to assume that there is a NAT router somewhere. Would that effect my FXP'ing but not my uploading or downloading?

I can download from the source site, but that would surely get Network security up here instantly, so I really want to transfer from 1 site to another site.

Yes, NAT is not FXP friendly in most cases it will cause FXP to fail especially if the ftp server is on port 21. The only known solution to NAT is to setup the FTP server on a port other than 21.

In that case, thank you, I will try that when I get home today.

I will let everyone know the answer.

Thank you for your support.
