Default Re-installing FlashFXP

I am about to reformat my system and am wondering if there were any considerations to take into account. I was just planning on saving all the ini, dat, and fqf files and once I reinstall the program, just paste them all back into the directory.

Any issues doing this? Is there something I may be missing?

Thanks

After you reinstall windows you'll need to re-enter your registration key so be sure you have it handy.

All FlashFXP settings are stored in the FlashFXP folder, backing up those files is key.

I'm in the same boat as GeeWiz, except that it's been so long since I bought flash that I don't remember the registration procedure. [flashfxp.key file is dated 2/19/2001].

Is it just copy and paste this file into the flashfxp folder? That was all?

It will work on the current install download?

My computer name will be different.... will that matter?

I've saved the complete old flashfxp folder, but which files do I not want to import into the new flashfxp folder?

Thanks.

Btw, Properties in win2kpro shows a version of 1.4.2.20 for the old flashfxp.exe file.

Hmmmm.... seems I'm now on day 458 of my 30 day trial. I sent the form in this a.m. for a new reg what-ever-it-is. Either I don't remember the correct email addy or the automated response is down. Anyone know what's wrong here?

I copied and pasted the key file into the folder, but no go, it seems.

flashfxp.key is created after you register FlashFXP the information contained within this file can not be used to register FlashFXP.

You can request your key via http://www.flashfxp.com/keyrequest.php If your email address has changed you can contact the email address provided. You must be able to provide poof that you purchased FlashFXP.

K, gonna give that a shot. The email addy I gave must not have been the one I gave when I bought this. I had 56k back then.... and the locals here delete mail after 90 days.... so I'm guessing at that one.

Ok, email sent to lostkey.
I'm sending it from my cable isp's email account with a note that I'm custer here.

And I attached the key file. That's how you want that, correct?

Thanks.

Edited: Ah, good. Got your reply. Ty.

The automated system might have been down.... I did send the correct address the first time. Waiting for the 56k mail. Thanks again.

Edit2: If you're having problems sending it to the original 56k email account, plz send it to the cable email addy. I tried the automated system again at the site and the inbox is still empty.

The email you sent me mentioned my email addy for the 56K account. It shows it as 'email addy>email addy'

Is that what your automated system is doing? Inserting the email addy for a name if there's not one there?

My inbox is still empty... it's been over 14 hours now.
Thanks for helping.

Just to let everyone know there was a mistake in our send mail script, it sent out the email with an incomplete message header. As a result it was rejected by the spam filter installed by custers isp.

I have corrected the mistake and everything should be fine now.
