speed drops
FlashFXP v[LATEST], build [ dont know], [ ]registered, [X]unregistered, [ ]pirated
* OS [X] WinXP, [ ] Win2K, [ ] Win98, [ ] WinME, [ ] Other
* Running behind NAT/router [ ] Yes & Model [ ], [ ] No, [X] Not sure
* Running firewall [X] Yes, Name [Mcafee], Ver. [LATEST], or [ ] No
* Running Antivirus [X] Yes, Name [Mcafee] or [ ] No
* Network [X] xDSL, [] CABLE, [ ] Dail-Up, [ ] Other
Download starts fine but then speed drops to zero, and remains at zero. only 'cure' is to disconnect and connect again, but the same problem occurs. Sometimes speed drops to zero almost instantly, at others, it can remain high for few minutes.
Used 'search', found similar problems but no solutions. Hope some one can help. Cheers.

Well yes, but if mcafee is causing the problem, you should contact mcafee's support service because then it's not flashfxp's fault it's not working good in your case....

i did not say it's a solution to your problem.
it's just one of the steps to troubleshoot it.
if after removing mcafee firewall ffxp works, then you'll know where to look for a fix. if not, then we'll move on to other possible causes

just to make sure that you uninstalled firewall, and not just disabled..some firewalls still keep their stuff loaded in memory even when you 'disable' them.
what exact build of flashfxp are you using?
can you post status log when your transfer hangs
