View Full Version : client accepting an fxp?
I was wondering if there is a way to get flash (in client mode) to accept an fxp. I'm thinking about making an ftp server that transparently connects the client to another ftp server on the net. My server could serve the client the list's and when the client want's to download something my server could tell the outside server to fxp the file to the client, but for that to work the client would need to accept the fxp. So... is there a way to do this?

Let the ftp client (it has not to be flashfxp) use passive mode and pass the ip/port to the client that you got from the server. or did i misunderstand you?

What you're talking about is called a bouncer... where the client logs into your IP but is actually communicating with the server.
There's 2 different types that i know of, but the most popular is what you're talking about - bouncing only the control connection, but all data goes straight from the server to the client.
just type in "ftp bouncer" on google, i'm sure you'll come up with all kinds of stuff.
