Getting connected through a cable/dsl router

some FTP sites (mostly firewalled servers) i can not connect to using FXP.

i'm using a linksys cable/dsl router, and have this computer set in the DMZ.

I'm sure that theres just something I need to configure, does anybody have a suggestion?

I've seen others ask the same question, but they were always answered with either "search for it" or a link which is dead. so sorry for asking the same question that others have asked.

put your external ip address in the "bind local ports to this ip" and then uncheck passive mode. sites behind a firewall will not permit pasv mode.
