hi,

i had to transfer a huge site today, and i had several protocol errors like:

type i
200 type set to i
port xx.x.x.x.x
xxx command "4;" not understood
retr file.jpg
200 port command successfull
150 opening binary ....

u see there's a "command not understood" failure, but flashfxp continues but at last failes to transfer .....

this was OK - cause flashfxp seems to get the protocol right again, but sometimes i had problems with the flashfxp-folder cache!!

it seemed that the cwd-command didn't succeed and flashfxp still listed the folder and stored it into the cache
the bug is than, that flashfxp "thinks" that there are files and folders which aren't downloadable.

I was using flashfxp with the RASPPPOE -DSL-Driver and a Windows-NAT

here is an exmaple.
i'm using falshfxp which i just downloded yesterday

TYPE I
200 Type set to I.
PORT 10,1,1,42,11,236
200 PORT command successful.
RETR ratzeburg_Dom.jpg
500 '1': command not understood
Transfer Failed!
TYPE I
150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for ratzeburg_Dom.jpg(11776 bytes).
TYPE I
425 Can't open data connection.
200 Type set to I.
213 11776
CWD /djh.de/pages/jugendherbergen/quedlinburg/Bilder/
250 CWD command successful.

any hints?

i turned off the directory-cache ... everything seems to work now ... at least the second try.

I'm not sure what's going on, The reply you are getting from the ftp server is very unusual.

Which version/build of FlashFXP are you using? If you're using a beta release be sure you are using the latest beta.

it was build 835 - version 1.4.3

i don't know yet, how this may happen.

i'm using RASPPPOE as i said already. It's a PPPoE-Driver that modifies the packages in some ways.

i don't expect to find any bug in the Win2k-NAT - the driver is my only hint.

The machine i was connecting to is a Win2k-IIS-FTP.

I don't know much at all about RASPPPOE, so anything is possible, btw was FXP support enabled on the IIS FTP server?

no, i didn't had the reg-tweak enabled on that machinbe, but it was a normal FTPSite->LocalDrive transfer.
so nothing special.

Ahhh, I was thinking it was probably a FXP.. It really wasn't clear from you logs.

Have you tried using Passive mode?

i highly doubt that raspppoe causes this issue. i've been using it for like 2 years w/ my old dsl connection w/o any prblms.
unless your raspppoe drivers are broken..but then you would prolly have other inet prblms too..
