I am having a problem fxping. I Use Flash FXP 1.4 Build 800. Everytime I try to fxp from this site I get this :+

425 Cannot open data connection.
ABOR
226 ABOR command successful.
Transfer Failed!
TYPE A
200 Type set to A.
PORT XX,XX,XX,XX,9,137
200 PORT Command successful.

I have Put Serv-U . G6 and Now i have Raiden Istalled on this site. Everyone I allow on it can fxp from it and too it but Me.

This is the craziest thing I have ever encountered.

If anyone has any info on what this could possibly be, I would appreciate it.

Steps i have taken..
I have disable Firewall on both sides.. even though it has too be my side that is the Problem :(.. but I don't want to believe that.

I have tried 4 different versions.. I have gone to Site Manager and in the Options tab i have checked off the server to server (fxp) options for Upload and Download (non Pasv)..

And many more.. just can't think right now.. Stressed :(

and Yes all the servers I have installed on this site have Fxp allowed and they all work for other people.

If anyone can give me some sort of direction to go in I would appreciate it :)
Thanks
Sincerely
Me

First thing i'd try is using the lastest build. Build 844 if my memory is correct. The latest build always has the up-to-date bug fixes. This may or may not be solved, but its worth a try before probing further.

i don't exactly understand your setup and what you are trying to do..
are you connecting to your local computer and trying to fxp somewhere?
also are you using any routers?

I have the exact same problem.
I have a firewall/gateway up and when I set my machine as a DMZ host it works fine because it opens all ports to that computer.
I'd like to know how to fix it without opening all the ports on the system.
oh yea it happens when I goto list a directory or it tries to list the root directory.

I have a NETGEAR RP114 Router and have this problem. I tried setting up a DMZ and it still doesn't work.

Sounds like you do not have the data port open for the ftp server.... if the server is using port 21 port 20 must also be open for data transmittal.... if a nonstandard port is used... the next lower will be the data port.. ie ftp port= 1000 ftp data port will be 999. the same goes for the client side.

that's actualy incorrect.
data port can not be lower than 1025. data port can be anything between 1025-65535. and it has no relation to control connection port number.

I beg to differ... in TCP [RFC793] in the Internet Assigned
Numbers Authority (IANA)

port for FTP are allocated as follows:
ftp-data 20/tcp File Transfer [Default Data]
ftp-data 20/udp File Transfer [Default Data]
ftp 21/tcp File Transfer [Control]
ftp 21/udp File Transfer [Control]

Its a demonstatable fact that if you set an FTP server for port 900 the data connection will be made at 899.

I think you misunderstand the RFC.

Consider a ftp server on port 21 when a PORT command is ussed PORT 216,139,145,218,13,80 The FTP server connects to IP 216.139.145.218 PORT 3408. The connection will originate from port 20. Provided the ftp server is following the RFC.

The FTP server assigns the local port 1 below the control connection for its data connections. When the client issues a PORT command the connecting port can be any port within the range of 1025-65535.

To whoever runs the board..

That 425 Data Connection.. Is obviously.. a problem with FlashFxp & Routers/Firewalls... Becasue if i disconnect my Router & just use my cable modem.. There is No Problem.. But the minute i connect the router im back to the same Problem...

 I hope someone at FlashFxp.. Can get this problem answered.. cause there is many of us who have routers/firewalls
& cannot fxp anything...

I suspect your router is not FXP compatible.
