Connection failed (Connection refused)?!?!

when i try to connect to this one ftp i always get this error "Connection failed (Connection refused)". i talk to other people and they can connect to the ftp and i cant. why is this happening?

oh yeah i have no firewall, and i tried disabling/enabling passive mode.

if the server checks ident, its possible that you either have a bad ident or its not being sent.

maybe your IP is banned (or a whole IP range??).

Try to contact the admin if you can ;)

I have the same problem. How do you check/fix the ident problem?


AND ....sometimes it means they are offline.
