help- cannot list ftp contents

i'm trying to access private ftps that have unusual port number. i can connect but then flashfxp hangs while attempting to list the folder contents. i've tried to switch off psv from the toggles tab and also tried the use "IP MASQ/ NAT/non-routable IP" option. nothing works. cam some1 help???

i've evn tried to switch off the firewall.

i'm using flashfxp build 1.4 under winxp os.
there are no error messages. flashfxp just hangs then after a while times out stating "connection lost". i can connect to these ftps and even see the welcome message BUT when flashfxp tries to LIST it just hangs. i've tried other downloaders and they too donot list the ftps (but i dont know if they even connect). there has to be a setting somewhere thats makes it work.

i have no other problems with the program and generally it runs smooth.
