PS Could it be the time? The flash prog. is saying the time is
[19:00:00] WinSock 2.0 -- OpenSSL 0.9.7d 17 Mar 2004
when it really is 12-1-04 7:00pm

flashfxp is saying time is [19:00:00]
and your OpenSSL module is version 0.9.7d and created on 17 Mar 2004

make sure your Norton Internet Security is properly configured for this new version of flashfxp. it might have been properly configured before, but after upgrade it might not recognize the new version.

Hi
Thanks for responding. Yes Norton is properly configured for this new version of flashfxp. It is set to allow all. Has been since the upgrade as I doublechecked that at the onset of problem.

just to be sure, try to temporary disable Norton Internet Security and see if you can connect.
do you have this problem with any other sites?

For testing, please disable all security features of your firewall, so that all traffic goes through. Once this has been done, please retry connecting to that site. I can connect to your ftp server without any problems, using latest FlashFXP version.

[R] Connecting to www.rosesrainbow.com -> DNS=www.rosesrainbow.com IP=207.89.253.54 PORT=21
[R] Connected to www.rosesrainbow.com
[R] 220 ProFTPD FTP Server ready.

If you can connect to your FTP server after turning off the firewall, remember to turn it back on immediately and search for a way to add FlashFXP as a trusted program. You might need to delete the FlashFXP entry in your firewall and re-add it completely. Also make sure that for some reason, there is no blocking of port 21.

I'm a bit wondering about the "Connection refused" message after only 0 seonds. Are you sure you haven't been using an FTP proxy or something like that before?

Good luck.
