When I was registering my account at this forum, I got this error:

Warning: fsockopen(): php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known in /home/virtual/site1/fst/var/www/html/forum/admin/mime_html_smtp.inc on line 727

Warning: fsockopen(): unable to connect to mail.flashfxp.ws:25 in /home/virtual/site1/fst/var/www/html/forum/admin/mime_html_smtp.inc on line 727

And consequently, I didn't get my activation email. But if this happens to you, and you need to activate your account, go to: http://forum.flashfxp.com/register.php?action=requestemail and just enter your email.

And site admins, do you know what caused this error?

We had VBulletin configured to use the smtp server directly for over a year now but lately it's been having this problem. We're not quite sure why. Last night VBulletin was re-configured to use the internal php sendmail routines rather than the smtp directly. This should solve the problem.
