Just updated... NONE of the setups I have will login now.

How do I return the previous version. I did select backup when loading the new version.

There are now two flashFXP's listed in the Add/Remove Programs section.

* FlashFXP v[3].[02], build [1044], [X]registered
* OS [X] WinXP, [ ] Win2K, [ ] Win98, [ ] WinME, [ ] Other
* Running behind NAT/router [X] Yes & Model [LinkSys G Wireless]
* Running firewall [X] Yes, Name [WinXP SP2 ]
* Running Antivirus [X] Yes, Name [AVG Pro ]
* Network [X] CABLE Not sure what Dail-Up is...

Problem is with the firewall....

The old version didn't have a problem with it, in fact it wasn't even listed as an excluded program, but the new version won't work with it on.

Even adding it as an excluded version doesn't work. You have to turn the firewall off to use it.

WinXP Pro SP2

Is there a solution for this?

WinSock 2.0 -- OpenSSL 0.9.7d 17 Mar 2004
[R] Connecting to GOT-THERE Hosted Account -> DNS=got-there.com IP=216.67.235.162 PORT=21
[R] Connected to GOT-THERE Hosted Account
[R] Connection failed (Connection lost)
[R] Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #1

This occurs for every connection.

The only solution now, is to turn off the firewall. I've already "excluded" the program, but only by turning off the firewall will it connect.

Turning off the firewalll is not a solution.

Does the ftp server require a valid ident to connect?

Perhaps Windows Firewall is blocking the ident request resulting in the ftp server rejecting the connection.

To validate your ident the ftp server connects back to your computer on port 113.

Using 3.0.2 try connecting to a site such as ftp.cdrom.com or ftp.uu.net, this ftp server does not require an ident reply.

Same results.

WinSock 2.0 -- OpenSSL 0.9.7d 17 Mar 2004
[R] Connecting to ftp.cdrom.com -> DNS=ftp.cdrom.com IP=207.250.14.6 PORT=21
[R] Connected to ftp.cdrom.com
[R] Connection failed (Connection lost)
[R] Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #1
[R] Retry attempt Aborted
[R] Connecting to ftp.uu.net -> DNS=ftp.uu.net IP=192.48.96.9 PORT=21
[R] Connected to ftp.uu.net
[R] Connection failed (Connection lost)
[R] Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #1

Turn off the firewall and....

[R] Connecting to ftp.uu.net -> DNS=ftp.uu.net IP=192.48.96.9 PORT=21
[R] Connected to ftp.uu.net
[R] 220 FTP server ready.
[R] USER anonymous
[R] 331 Guest login ok, send your complete e-mail address as password.
[R] PASS (hidden)
[R] 230-
[R] 230- Welcome to the UUNET archive.

Works like a champ.

None of my connections use Ident.

Out of curiosity, what if you rename your FlashFXP.exe to something else, say FFXP.exe

If FlashFXP works named as FFXP.exe I would suspect windows has some registry entry or setting that is blocking the updated flashfxp.exe

Tried that and that didn't work either...

Figured something is messed up, so I removed flashfxp completely, rebooted, and reinstalled it... works now.

Any way to get back my settings... I saved the

FlashFXP.ini
quick.dat
Stats.dat

files before uninstalling. but they don't seem to update the program.

I just rebuilt them instead.... I needed to change some of them anyways.

I always have a copy of the settings and passwords in an app that I can access from my PDA/Phone, Outlook in case I need to use them elsewhere.
