This can sometimes occur if your firewall isn't properly configured to allow FlashFXP access.

Disabling your firewall isn't the solution because in most cases even though it's disabled it will continue to block previously blocked applications.

most like your firewall blocking it. try uninstalling that FW and try again

[R] Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #1"that message means ffxp(or your computer) couldn't convert "sunsite.unc.edu" into ip address...which means it's a dns problem.
to find out if it's a problem with flashfxp itself or elsewhere, open command prompt and type
nslookup sunsite.unc.edu
the output should look something like this
Non-authoritative answer:
Name: sunsite.unc.edu
Address: 152.2.210.81
if you get some type of error that means something could be wrong with your ISP's dns servers.
"[R] Connecting to 137.204.65.1 -> IP=137.204.65.1 PORT=21
[R] Connection failed (10022: Invalid argument)"as for this error..i'm not sure...it could be your firewall problem..also consider scanning your system for spyware, some of it can replace normal winsock file with their own modified/broken version.

oh guyz!

The FW is the McAfee Personal Firewall Plus V6.0.6014

unistalling FW doesn't seems a good idea...
so... i've tried again ftp from doswindow and it works fine
connecting to sunsite in a while...

"Microsoft(R) Windows 98

C:\WINDOWS\Desktop>ftp sunsite.unc.edu
Connesso a sunsite.unc.edu.

ftp>"
as you can see...

so it's not a firewall problem that's bloking my ftp port...
NSLOOKUP doesn't exist on W98 it's on NT,W2000, WXP...

please i need a more technical help could you? so if i must
give any info on the system, ask me!

Don't know if it'll help;according to Google:

WSAEINVAL (10022)

Invalid argument.

Some invalid argument was supplied (for example, specifying an invalid level to the setsockopt function). In some instances, it also refers to the current state of the socket - for instance, calling accept on a socket that is not listening.

The fact that a firewall is being used makes everything much more complicated. A firewall can send you on a wild goose chase looking for bugs that don't exist.

One never really knows what to expect when a software firewall denies access to the application.

I don't know if this will work however it's worth a shot. Depending on how smart (or dumb) your firewall is you can try renaming the FlashFXP.exe to something else, say MyFXP.exe. It might be possible to trick the firewall into allowing access or at least allowing you to re-configure access to FlashFXP.

In order for us to provide you with additional support you need to do the following

1. Insure your firewall is properly configured to allow FlashFXP access to the internet. (There should be a firewall log or report somewhere showing whether or not access is allowed or denied)

2. Uninstall your firewall.

have you tried connecting to that site with FlashFXP again?
unistalling FW doesn't seems a good idea... they are not asking you to completly stop uisng your firewall, just remove it long enough to test if FlashFXP will work without it, then you can reinstall it back again.
