The new FlashFXP 3 will not let me open Shared Folders on a Workgroup network, this works fine under V2,.
I can see the shares in the drop down menu, if I go to click on them it defaults back to my C drive.
It is a Windows XP box I am trying to open the share on (Drive letter M).

are you by any chance on a novell network? its possible zone-alarm is causing the problem...have you added this new flashfxp.exe to all of zonealarm's exceptions?

Nope it is strictly a Windows Workgroup.
Please note:
Version 2 works and is able to open the Shared Folders.
Version 3 cannot.

please check ZoneAlarm. It is notorious for causing problems with programs like FlashFXP.

I am having this same problem with Novell Netware shares. Worked fine with v. 2.1. Now with version 3 I can not access them.

For some unknown reason there seems to be a issue with browsing Novell network shares.
Unfortunately I don't have access to a Novell network share and without it this problem is going to be very difficult to diagnose.
I'm currently looking for people who have Novell network shares to help me resolve this problem. Please send me a private message. If you use a Instant messenger client please provide your details, it will make communication much easier. Thanks

I have the same problem and yes, we're on a novell network.
As soon as i want to choose (pulldown) the network drive, it jumps back to the previous selection. The same happens when i type the drive straight directly in the folder path.
An i'm also a novell system admin

a long time bug ... when you have mapped drived, flashfxp will start quite long.. seems it's enumerating share drive.

I'm getting the same error here. I have two driveletterz (X and Z) mapped to shares on a Windows 2003 server, both of them shows up in the dropbox, but if I choose either one, nothing happends, FlashFXP just jumps back to the previously selected dig
Also, I can't manually type in the pathname and change to the netowkr drive that way
XP Pro SP2, no firewall, Flash 3.0.1015

We will be releasing a maintance release to address this issue.
Registered users will be able to download a beta release to test the fix within the next few days using LiveUpdate. In your LiveUpdate options you need to tell FlashFXP to check for official and beta releases.
Mapped drives work great in the latest beta - man I thought I was going crazy until I came here.
However, I think there's some interaction with XP SP2 going on - with sp1 and flash v3 1015, I could browse shared folders on the network ok - some delay for heavily populated folders, but it worked. Going to SP2 killed that, it was like it was just timing out, program not responding etc. At that point I tried mapping drives to those folders instead, which is when I discovered the mapped drive bug. Under SP2 and the latest beta, mapped drives worked again, but I still couldn't browse large shared folders (same damn folders!). Going back to SP1, I can now browse those very same folders properly over the network from within Flash.
So: a) SP2 can be a real disaster, and there may be some network+sp2 bugs to be ironed out with flash b) upgrading to the beta fixes the mapped drive problem, at least.
vital stats: xp pro (SP1 or 2 depending...) on the primary computer, win2k sp4 on the browsed machine, legal registered flash v3 1015 or latest beta on the xp box, AVG 6.0771 antivirus, no software firewall, linksys befsr41 router.

Thanks for your feedback.
I use WinXP SP2 on both of my computers. I don't notice any problems browsing network drives.
About how many files are in these large folders?
The particular shared folder that makes flash time out under sp2, but not under sp1, contains approximately 700 subfolders, which in turn contain about 8000 files.
Thinking back, it seems like older versions of flash were much faster at displaying shared folder contents on well-populated folders, but I don't have hard data on that...
