Hello,

I have searched the forums and read the few posts regarding this error, however I was not able to get enough information.

My setup: cable modem into a Linksys BEFW11S4 cable/dsl router which I am using the port forwarding to forward port 2121 to my FTP server.

When I try and connect from one of my other machines out through my public IP address I get in just fine. However, when I try and connect from work I get the following:

passive mode: Data Socket Error: Connection Timed Out
non-passive mode: Cannot open data connection (10060)

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, I am not using any software connection sharing, but using the Linksys cable/dsl router for the connection sharing.

Thanks.

Try to check in the "Advanced" tab of your site (located in the "Site Manager") the "Site uses IP Masq/NAT/Non-Routable IP" option and connect to the site... dunno if this may work, but try it...

Thanks for the reply!

I tried your suggestion, but I still get the same errors.
