Keep old mailing list ?

this is where it must be decided whether i should keep the mailing list running or not.

Message can be sent to users when new files appear, and there's a 'newsletter' functionnality available to admins to sent an email to all private beta testers or to all registered members.
Was the list used for anything else than those ?

nope the list was there for users to be notified of a new release.

Midknight, since the portal allows these emails to be generated, I guess we don't require that you send out these notifications.

Now you can just think of something else to do with that little bit of free time.

I do hope that the portal will email those with private files etc, cause as yet it hasn't, not for me anyway

Private files are for beta testers only, on the only few to whom the file is targeted.
You won't receive new files announces for files you don't have access to.

Haven't recieved any mail from the portal yet, so it would be gr8 if u could have the mailing list up and running til we get mails sent out

Mails have been sent already and seems to be working good. I myself received a couple of them, and only 6 email addresses bounced during those mailings, none of which is yours.
