(10060) error

425 Cannot open data connection (10060).
QUIT

this is the error I get. I am running winxp and use a netgear 314 router. sometimes I can connect via ftp sometimes I can't. when I got that error i was connecting through port 666. I'm wondering if maybe there's some issue with non port 21? is it an fxp problem? I've tried pass and non pass. no luck.

A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.

There are several possiblities, it could be winxp and it's internal firewall, it could be your router, or it could be a firewall on the ftp server.

Some other users have provided some information regarding winxp firewalls and some routers, if you search the board i'm sure you'll find those threads.
