Wanna use ftp, dont know anything

hello. I would like to set up an ftp server so I am able to access my files when Im not at home. But, I dont know anything about ftp servers, mainly what do I need to set up a server. Thanks!

You need an FTP Server program, FlashFXP is an FTP Client. Take a look at this (http://www.bpftpserver.com) page to download an easy and complete FTP Server program. Make sure to read the online manual (http://www.bpftpserver.com/manual/manual_en/).

Once you've got an FTP Server installed you will need an FTP Client to access the files, as FlashFXP (http://www.flashfxp.com/download.php).

You can sometimes pick up free hosting too, like 1and1 was offering for a couple of months. Try to get a hosted service, unless it's really worth spending all that time setting one up.
