* OS [ ] WinXP, [x] Win2K, [ ] Win98, [ ] WinME, [ ] Other
* Running behind NAT/router [ ] Yes & Model [ ], [x] No, [ ] Not sure
* Running firewall [x] Yes, Name [Sygate], Ver. [5.5 build 2516], or [ ] No
* Running Antivirus [x] Yes, Name [NOD32] or [ ] No
* Network [x] xDSL, [ ] CABLE, [ ] Dail-Up, [ ] Other
Things were going fine then suddenly I can't list any ftp server using any version of FlashFXP. I tried switching to SmartFTP, it works, but it is a painful experience :rolleyes: Plz help!

Oh and another thing, I am not using WinPOET I am using RASPPPOE ver. 0.98B before and after this happened. And nothing has changed as far I can remember.

please don't piggyback on other threads
your configuration is different from the user in that thread and your problem might be different.
post status log from nonworking flashfxp and working smartftp

OK..as you wish.
[13:11:41] LIST
[13:11:41] 150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for /bin/ls.
[13:11:41] 226 Transfer complete. At this point everything just stops and the list doesn't show up. But if I hit abort it displays the list
[13:11:43] (soft abort)
[13:11:43] ABOR
[13:11:43] 226 ABOR command successful.
[13:11:44] List Error
[13:11:53] CWD DOWNLOAD
[13:11:53] 250 Directory changed to /DOWNLOAD
[13:11:53] PWD
[13:11:53] 257 "/DOWNLOAD" is current directory.
[13:11:53] PASV
[13:11:53] 227 Entering Passive Mode (xx,xx,xx,251,10,133)
[13:11:53] LIST
[13:11:54] 150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for /bin/ls.
[13:11:54] 226 Transfer complete. Now here I tried to abort a second time but now it didn't work, meaning no list even after the abort command
[13:11:58] QUIT
[13:11:58] An internal error has occurred.
[13:11:58] 10022:Invalid argument
And if I don't hit abort it will just set there doing nothing until the server drops me due to inactivity.
As for SmartFTP there is nothing really to say, it does what it is supposed to do...
[13:16:59] LIST -aLT
[13:16:59] 150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for /bin/ls.
[13:16:59] 4323 bytes received successfully. (4.22 KB/s) (00:00:01).
[13:17:00] 226 Transfer complete.
As I said before this happens on any server using any FlashFXP version I tried up to version 2.1 build 924, and active/passive mode doesn't affect this in anyway.
And here is what the errorlog.txt shows...

At one point FlashFXP was working.
Then suddenly it stopped working.
What changed on your end?
did you upgrade FlashFXP, change your network settings, install any new software, etc..
When FlashFXP starts up what winsock version is displayed?
I have seen this problem before but we were never able to determine the cause.
Are you a registered user? If you are i'd recommend you upgrade to the latest beta release build 968, it's compiled with extended debug information. This extended info might shed some light on the problem. Extended error info is saved to a debug.log.

Nothing changed at my end. The network settings never changed and the error just started after that I tried sing different version, both recent and not but nothing did help. As for software I tried disabling anything that might affect the connection from firewall, antivurs etc. but still nothing.
Unfortunately I am not registered and the reported Winsock version is 2.0.
Thanks for your help

Hello, just wondering is there any solution to this problem. I´m having the exact same problem with the exact same hardware configuration and software as Hameed (only difference is my firewall is Outpost, but that´s not causing it)
Any help appreciated

TimoT, w/o seeing status log it's impossible to tell what's wrong w/ your connection

I think it's a winsock issue. Perhaps RASPPPOE doesn't support all the basic winsock functions? I'm not entirely sure here i'm just guessing. I will add some better handling around the next release to help overcome such a problem if one existed.

Don't know if this is related to this or not, but using the lastest Beta version I am getting a very strange and new error.
Whenever I try to connect to anything it just displays this in the errorlog...

raspppoe doesn't do anything w/ winsock so it's not at fault
Hameed, your status log from smartftp is incomplete, it's missing command/reply the came before LIST command..

Found the solution :)
The problem is actually related to Netlimiter, having it installed (even if it is not controlling FlashFXP) causes this error.
But I don't think it is entirely NL fault 'cause other ftp clients work with it.

I installed Netlimiter and tested this configuration.
I'm afraid I was not able to reproduce the problem.
Hameed

Well maybe it is a combination of things, but Net limiter is a part of it, I tried it on W2k and XP and on both occasions when I installed Netlimiter FlashFXP would go crazy and as soon as I uninstall NL and restart Flash FXP works fine.
if you have any sugestions to try I am up for it :)

Are you using the latest version of Net Limiter?
I used the latest shareware version available on their website.
I just tested on Windows 2000 and it worked fine as well, I don't know what to tell ya.
Perhaps you could report this problem to Net Limiter and maybe they might know why this problem occurs.

Yes I am using the latest version.
I'll email them and see what happens.

I looked here for a while and didn´t find any way to get this problem away. I´ve used Ad aware and that wasn´t the problem i´ve read in another post. The problem came after i installed my system new.
With best regards
