The following program/site was reciently pointed out to me in another forum, the program promises to do the following:

"This tool checks your FTP sites in your flashFXP bookmark list, the program tries to connect to the sites and if it works the program places a ! before your bookmark in your flashFXP so you can easily see which sites are "usable" (read: you can login to). Normally if you have a lot of FTP's in your list this takes a lot of time.. with this automated tool it's a piece of cake. "

EDIT: URL's REMOVED BY SHARK. Thank you for this post.

DO NOT USE

The program is a scanner and will send a list of all your bookmarked flashfxp sites to an unknown site complete with user/pass for each site :(

I felt it prudent to share this information with users here, Mods, if this post is not correct or in the wrong place, please correct/delete/move as necessary.

never use anything like that unless it was delveloped by Bigstar and downloadable from this site. otherwise your only asking for trouble, as you just found out.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I'm afraid this isn't the first program to take advantage of unsuspecting users and steal their site list.

Users need to use caution when using any unsupported 3rd party applications with FlashFXP.

Yes Ive also read this warning in various places..
I took it upon myself to make a legitimate tool that does this, without sending the information to myself, or anyone.

You can confirm this by watching its connection details in a decent firewall, or monitoring program.

But its probably not alright to post links here, so I wont.. its just bad now cause people will be apprehensive about using a program like this, no matter how much you assure them that it does not steal your sites.

i submit that soft to Symantec and since at least yesterday it's being detected as password stealer, so hopefully folks don't get screwed over by this anymore
