Hello, I am behind a NAT firewall (i believe) and it seems as though all ftp sites work perfectly well they are on port 21, yet on any other port, i have a total bandwidth of 11k/sec, yet randomly, sometimes i will get better speeds, it is same with upload, or download, if this is an issue with the firewall, would using a ftp proxy fix this? How can i optimize the speed on ports other than 21. Thanks for your input in advance.

hmm, would i be able to put in specific ports to use? just not sure how to solve this, i know of the issue of fxp's behind NAT can only be port 21 sites, but it seems strange i can only up/down at a capped speed on other ports other than 21.

Capped speeds? Sounds like something your ISP would do to curb various services on less-than-obvious ports. In addition, gently forcing your hand into using a fixed port also eases whatever monitoring they have going, if any. All in all, an excellent setup. ;)
