chmod goes away

i am using flash fxp v.1.2 build 924 on windows xp. i am behind a router and i am on cable. i am also using the evaluation copy. when i am connected to an ftp and i right click on a file and select chmod (or ctrl+O) the chmod window pops up for a split seccond then goes away. any idea what to do?

do you have any other type of firewall/popup software installed? are you sure it isn't coming up in the background?

i am positive is not coming up in the background. and i have no other pop-up stoppers or firewalls running.
