I am trying to connect to an FTP i know is working. It is a friends FTP. I am running Windows XP. The Flash FXP version I have is the Evaluation copy I downloaded free at the Flash FXP website. Other friends of mine can connect. I was thinking it is probably an IP address conflict by that does not make sense. The FTP address is 24.225.142.5:21. I am behind a Netgear router and have tried to connect by changing ever single setting on both the router and the Flash options/prefrences. Any sugguestions would be great.
Thanking you in advance.

can you connect to that site using any other program, such as IE or Mozilla?

open dos command window and do traceroute
tracert <ip>
see if you are able to reach that site. if traceroute dies some place along the way then it's network issue between you and your friend.
if traceroute works fine then it's possible there is something wrong w/ your router(or it's configuration)

Okay... 29 out of the 30 times the connection timed out... So then it sounds like a network problem... How do I go about fixing it?
