Help Plz Winsock

anybody knows which Winsock.dll is actually in windows XP
Version and Date and so on coz i think a programm Overwrite my old one
and where i can get the newest version ? ;)

That DLL should be protected by Windows File Protection and really you shouldn't be able to replace it unless you did it from a recovery console and replaced the DLL in both the System32 and System32\Dllcache dir.

Go to Start, Run and type this command:

sfc /scannow

It will run the file checker and ask you for the XP CD to replace the files that might have been overwritten by something.

There is a well-known spyware appz (i think that's called Web3000) bundled in several programs that uses to 'steal' original windows winsock.dll and replaces it with another one...

Use a spyware cleaner periodically (like Ad-aware 6) to prevent those problems.
