hi i recently activate my windows XP firewall and now i cant fxp. any suggestions? without turning firewall off :P like i can configure ports or something any clue?

well, you need to open up port 113 for ident, then probably choose a range to open up and then set that range within flashfxp under the firewall settings. make sure the range is at least around 10 or more ports. Also, put in your external ip under the firewall tab as well...

That should do it..also search the forum for other ideas

i have identd already port 113 but what range should i put for fxp? like on XP firewall isnt possible to set a range got to add a line for each port. cant u give me some steps or something i really dont know

I'm on windows 2000 here so i'm doing everything from memory. Just choose a high range like 5000-5015. If you have to put them in manually, then i guess you gotta do that.

I know there are instructions out on the web on how to work with WinXP firewall...

might as well go with 3rd party firewall software.
xp's firewall is somewhat basic and limited..like you can't enter port range, have to do one at a time..

check out Norton Firewall, it's pretty good, or Tiny Personal Firewall, it's very similar to norton's but free...
