Connection Problems

When trying to connect to my friend's ftp site, I recieve a connection failed (timed out message). After automated retries, it continues to fail. This now happens every time I try to quick connect. This is only a recent problem.

Could this be due to security software (ie zone alarm) that i recently installed. I uninstalled the same software and i still have the problem. Could the problem be on his end or could it be local to my machine settings?

Any help on this would be appreciated. :confused:

What build of FlashFXP are you using ?

What site/s are you connecting to ?

Can you paste a log of what happens ?

When you say you uninstalled zone-alarm, did you disable it ? or uninstall it totally ?

Sometimes Zone-Alarm causes problems..

I uninstalled Zone Alarm completely! I am using build 901 version 2.0.

I can try to duplicate the problem, this is what I get:

Connecting to 64.135.70.17
Connection failed (Connection timed out)
Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #1

and this will retry until I abort.

I never had this problem before. Is there something that was permanently altered in the registry that prevents communication. I can use Kazaa and share files via P2P so why cant I connect to the ftp? Its frustrating! :mad:

obvious question, are you sure that your friend's ftp up?
are you using correct ip and port?
are you connecting from allowed ip range? some ftp servers check ips before they even accept connections.
