What happens is that I connect to 2 FTPs and make a queue for files to transfer, then I start to transfer them....When I have been transfering the files for a while, it just finishs the file it is transfering and doesn't continue transfering the rest of the files, but it looks to me that file is still transfering, the elapsed time is still going but the Remaining goes to ?? ??. And it doesn't transfer the rest of the files, so I have to disconnect and do it again for the rest of the files....

Sounds like network timeout (router?/isp)

Check router settings.. there's propably option to alter it (if not, then: F6 => Proxy/Firewall/Ident => Send noops during transfer

Hi, im having the same problem with a variation.
Im trying to FXP from one site to another.
Im behind a router on a network, so im using passive mode.. it has worked fine for most sites, this one site wont list files and pauses after 1 file completes FXP to other site.
However this site that wont list with passive mode, lists fine with bulletproof ftp (passive), so im wondering what the difference between flash fxp and bulletproofs passive methods are, or could it be that im logged into this in both flash and bulletproof using too many ports for passive (which i doubted), what do u guys think?
I really dont want to change products completely, please help me out guys, im a novice in this area.
Thanks

tell that site admin that his server is misconfigured.
PASV
227 Entering Passive Mode (192,168,0,252,8,198)
that ip is from internal network, not internet ip.
flashfxp is smart enough to go around this problem, go to site manager and on options tab check "Site uses IP Masq/NAT/..."

Now that I have done that, what happens is it starts transfering then it comes up with transfer complete but the elpased time keeps going but the file has already finished. So I have to stop it and start with the next file, etc.

What build of FlashFXP are you using? Be sure you're using the latest beta, this feature has since been improved apon, also this option is not compatible with alot of ftp servers. Without seeing a copy of the status log it's hard to determine the exact problem.

MxxCon how is the server misconfigured when bulletprooft ftp works fine ? I think it is Flash FXP not the server, you saw the logs yourself... anything else I can try ?

becuase reply from PASV command is supposed to be server's ip followed by port.
what that server replies with is internal(lan) ip, which is obviously invalid if you connect to that server from internet.
did you enable option i told you to in my previous message?

Yeah, it still happens even though I have the latest beta.
Here is a log:
TYPE I
200 Type set to I.
PASV
227 Entering Passive Mode (149,159,54,183,14,170)
PORT 149,159,54,183,14,170
200 Port command successful.

STOR filename
150 Opening data connection for clspba19.zip.
REST 1455237
350 Restarting at 1455237 - send STORE or RETRIEVE to initiate transfer.
RETR filename
150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for filename(size).
200 Command okay.
200 NOOP command successful.
200 Command okay.
200 NOOP command successful.
226 Transfer complete.
200 Command okay.
200 NOOP command successful.
200 Command okay.
200 NOOP command successful.
200 Command okay.
200 NOOP command successful.
.....
And it keeps going and going, so I have to stop it, because the file has transfered when it said: Transfer Complete.

There should be 2 transfer complete messages. I suspect one site doesn't correctly support "send noops during transfer" so you'll have to disable it.
Which ftp server software is being used on each server?
zonemen

Serv-U FTP Server v3.0
BulletProof FTP Server

Provided you're using the latest version of bulletproof it should be ok, I know Serv-u 3.x supports noops during transfer.
Have you tried turning off "send noops during transfer" ?

It worked with the IP Masq thing... NOOP's worked but that method is hard to tell what is happening.
I still believe the reply from Flash FXP is the same as bulletproof, hence I still want to know why bulletproof works! You say the PASV reply is sposed to be the servers IP followed by port, well both get THE SAME REPLY from server ! So what figures ?
Server is Serv-U 4.1 BTW
I just find having NOOP and needing to have site manager for these things annoying, noop has disrupted some other sites transfers for me.

Yes, but it sometimes does:

Under normal conditions these problems don't exist, I've never come across two ftp servers that do this.
If you could get me a login on each ftp server I would love to trouble shoot the problem, apart from that it's really hard to say what's really going on. All I can do is guess. Unfortunately I've run out of ideas.
