downloading non-english files

Direct connection to internet via cable

Having trouble downloading japanese named files sitting in japanese named directories. I don't know if both is the trouble or one or the other. Please show me how to go about fixing this problem.

What FTP server software ? (Deamon)

Ie. GLFTPD, WAR-FTPD, etc

How do I find the information that you request? I have no method of contacting the owner of the ftp.

I apologize. The file is not under a japanese named directory, but just english. So it seems the only problems is with just downloading a japanese named file.
