When I want to install a new version of FlashFXP I keep my old Sites.dat so I don't need to add all the sites again.
What I do need to do when installing a fresh copy of FlashFXP is change all the settings again icluding the layout.
My layout is kinda complicated and it takes me a few minutes to get it right every time I install a new version, same with the settings.
I don't think it is possible to export the settings+layout,
I do think it can be cool.

I believe you can backup your flashfxp.ini (like you backup your sites.dat too, probably), and when you restore it, you will have the same window settings you had before.

hmm doesn't the ini change though with new versions?
I think it could be nice to have an option called Export Settings/Sites that will make .fxp file or something and then when you installt he new version you excute the .fxp file and it will import the settings and/or sites.

Nope, upgrades do not include new ini settings. for new installs, the ini file is generated the first time flashfxp is run

No the ini file does not change nor does the sites.dat, when new versions are released they are backwards compatible with previous versions. The newer version may however update your files to be compatible with the newer version. However running an older version on the newer updated data files can corrupt them.

- Added an INI setting that allows you to disable direct saving/reloading of the FlashFXP.ini, when set FlashFXP will save the settings on exit, rather then immediately, and will not detect changes made by
multiple instances of FlashFXP.
[main]
SaveOnExit=1

..

For example.
Anyway I still think it could be nice to export sites/settings and import 'em.
