Hi there;
My PC is running with Windows XP pro sp1 and I´m trying to use FlashFXP v2.0 (build906) since I´ve upgraded to sp1 I been unable to connect to any ftp site. This is an example of what I recieved:
WinSock 2.0
Connecting to Adobe
Connection failed (10061:Connection refused)
Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #1
Connecting to Adobe #1
Connection failed (10061:Connection refused)
Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #2
Retry attempt Aborted
I´ve tried with others ftp clients just to recieve the same answer.
Gee guys cannot find the answer! ...this is really embarrasing to my ego cause I´m not new to "computer science" (maybe I´m getting old)
Any help would be valuable to me.
thanks in advance.

Are you behind a firewall ? software or hardware ?
Does this problem happen with all sites ?

Shark;
I´m not behind any kind of firewall (softw or hardw).
I had recieved the same answer from all the sites and I tried a lot.
By the way, thx for your answer. I keep looking forward your next post.

Have you disabled the built-in firewall in Windows XP?

ND;
Yer Sir, checked again its disabled. Nothing happens.
I noticed one more effect, cannot reach any server, for example, I tried to activate my Windows XP Pro just to recieve the same message,....cannot establish communication with the activation server...
Man, I got no clue.

If you cannot reach any server there is something that is blocking your Internet connection. Check your network status on XP Pro ---> Start/Settings/Networks Connections/Local Area Connection/Properties. Check again if you have installed any program that could block your connection (firewall, antivirus, popup blocker, whatever...). By the way, are you sure that you didn't change something related with your network connection after installing SP1?
If you have a router you can verify its state through www/telnet (ports, filters...). As last solution contact with your Internet Service Provider.
Make sure you uninstalled any firewall you might have had.
I ZoneAlarm, took it off autostart (or so I thought) and found myself locked out'a internet. Some firewalls are evil!
I had to reinstall ZA and use the uninstaller to get back online.

ND-, DYN_Data:
Finally we made it!!. Thx to ND-´s last post.
ZA founded guilty. I used Add Remove Plus! 2002 v3.2 build 3.2.0.250 to uninstall, now I can connect to ftp sites.
Still I will like to know why?. How comes?.
Thanks to all you guys, specially to DYN_data and ND-.

Not sure... other than because ZA is pure CRAP, ;)

I agree with you about giving "crap" category to ZA, what are using you instead?

I use BlackIce rustico.. if that helps. I have not had any problems with FlashFXP or any other software with Blackice..
I dont want to turn this forum into a discussion firewalls, so its just a quick post for rustico.
