unless you elaborate on this, there is no way to know what you mean by "faster"

is my english such bad? :) with "faster" i mean that other programs like pftp just need less than 1sec to listening a dir ... so i thought that maybe flashfxp could listening files and folders much faster ...

Well.. few things first. Your FFXP build ? OS ? etc

I dont think its up to FlashFXP, I would suggest it is either your ISP or the site you are on.. I cant say that I have ever noticed Flash is slower than other clients (listing).

what "pftp" are you talking about?
linux client? or something else?

The speed at which a directory is listed depends on your bandwidth, the servers bandwidth and network congestion/conditions, not FlashFXP.

hmm stupid question ... is it possible to run flashfxp on a shell and then connect to flashfxp and fxp from server to server? but flashfxp should run on a shell for better listening.

No, it does not depend on your ISP/Bandwidth... ofcourse it does but first of all the method of listing is what counts.

pftp usese STEALTH dir listing, and so does Staff-FTP (Win software) its a much faster method and takes 0sec to list.

Whats stealth dir listing and is it supported by all ftp servers?

"stealth" ftp listing is stat command. it send dir list thru control connection instead of opening new data connection.
i don't think it's supported by all servers.
much faster method and takes 0sec to list. that's obviously not true. nothing takes 0sec. you can notices any difference only on really slow sites, otherwise it's same thing

and what the hell is pftp?! url?

oh right the stats command, we tested it once before and most ftp servers do not support it. We are undecided whether future versions of FlashFXP will support it.

yeah using stat command for directory listing would be great!!

I hope it will be implement very soon, i think it could be easy to do, and would be nice if "stealth" listing could be set on the site manager (not suported by all ftp server)

another nice thing witch would be nice... add a way to highlight new dirs after a refresh and an option/shortcut to move to the newest dir :)

plz implement "stat ." for quick listing, really faster for 56K slow modem than doing all those port cmd

It's very unlikey that this feature will make it into v2.0.. perhaps future versions though.

pftp is a *nix client, but there's a win port.

Do you have considered about the 'STEALTH' methode and the "jump / highlight to latest dir' function?

thin the stealth dir listing is a nice feature and should be implementated as fast as possible ... mayb only as an optional way. ppl who need it / want to use it know if their servers support it so it shouldnt be a problem
