timed out

I cannot seem to connect to the desired server.

I am fairly new to the FTP process and using the demo version of FlashFXP. Error message reads "connection timed out" which I take to be that Flash FTP cannot connect with the server I wish to upload files to.

I have an open port through the firewall, have gone through the tutorial and think I completed the connection window accurately.

Any ideas?

Sounds like the ftp server you want to upload to is down or the ftp service is not running.

You can test flashfxp by trying to access ftp.redhat.com
port 21
username anonymous

Another reason for this error is if the server uses ident checking, and you don't have a valid ident. you might want to contact the site operator.
