Connecting while VPN is connected

Wondering if some can help me out here. I use my laptop to fxp some stuff. When I am on my laptop I am connected through Extranet which is a VPN client. The problem is whenever this happens I cannot connect to my site. Is there something I am doing wrong? What settings do I need?

When you say you are trying to connect to your site.. what do you mean ? i.e. are you trying to connect to a site your running on the network ? or on the internet ? or.. ?

What FTPD is the site running ?

Any thing else you can think of.. remember we are not there
