Hi,

1> Would it be possible to add a dialog where we can add say 10 commands to be queued? It's a mission to add them 1 by one because sometimes there are bulk commands to be performed.

So maybe have an option:
Enqueue > Bulk Raw Command

that pops up a text dialog box where we can paste 40 jobs at a time etc...

2> Would it be possible to extend the command length in the command bar? Currently I use wget from there and i have some commands that go way beyond the character limit, which means i need to putty to my box and run the command from there.

eg:)

wget http://myserver/sql/backups/database1.rar http://myserver/sql/backups/database2.rar http://myserver/sql/backups/database3.rar http://myserver/sql/backups/database4.rar http://myserver/sql/backups/database5.rar http://myserver/sql/backups/database6.rar http://myserver/sql/backups/database7.rar http://myserver/sql/backups/database8.rar

This works in putty from the box.

When I paste the above into the site command bar because that bar limits it to only a few characters:

wget http://myserver/sql/backups/database1.rar http://myserver/sql/backups/database2.rar http://myserver/sql/backups/database3.rar http://myserver/sql/backups/database4.rar http://myserver/sql/backups/database5.rar http://myserver/sql/backups/databas

Kind Regards,
Mike

i think bigstar implemented raw command limit to prevent server exploits. some people would send excessively long commands that would crash/abuse ftp servers.

MxxCon is correct.

However at the time there was really no reason to justify allowing for long commands. I think your situation is the first time I've seen a real good reason to allow longer commands.

There's an option in the preferences > options > "interpret ; as raw command delimiter"
When this option is checked the ; character can be used to separate multiple commands for a single raw command entry.

such as, "SITE cmd1; SITE cmd2; SITE cmd3"

Since we have a raw command history it would be hard to support true multi-line commands.

Hi Bigstar,

Thanks for the reply. The delimited solves the initial issue of multiple commands how each there is still a limit of 250 characters in the Raw Command dialog box so even if you have the ; in the commands it wont paste the complete set.

Is there any way to allow more characters in the command bar?

Thanks in advanced :)

I am working on a new beta release which will be available to registered users shortly that will either increase the limit or remove it. I need to do lots of testing before I decide on which route I take.

Thanks for the new updates bigstar. Although I just noticed that if you enqueue a raw command there is no limit but in the command bar under "View > Show Raw Command Line" still has the limit of 250 characters. In the next update please could you remove it from there aswell because sometimes there is no other command running and I can send it through immediately, so no need to queue it!

Thanks again for the work done :D

Sorry I forgot to remove the limit from this input box, I'll fix it up in the next build.

perhaps you should buy flashfxp now?

A new build has been posted to beta testers that removes this limit. I was going to give you access to the beta area but your account doesn't have your license key properly assigned. Perhaps you purchased FlashFXP under a different account then the one you use for posting on the forums?
