linux is considered by most experienced computer persons to be the best operating system.. it can be fully customized into different "flavours" (suse, redhat etc.) - linux is open source.

instead of trying to cater for everyones needs of flashfxp.. why dont u release an open source version (obviously not the latest build.. but a really old one, like v1.0 for example)..

i, for one, would sure as hell like to build all the features i want to see into the program..

i can see why this idea is a little inconcievable, but i wonder if it has ever been thought of/brought up before.. and what your views on it are.

Take a look at this (http://sourceforge.net/softwaremap/trove_list.php?form_cat=89&discrim=201) page. There are 81 open source projects related with FTP & Linux and most of them have GNU, GPL, QPL and LGPL licenses.
