* any other info:

This only used to happen to sites on other ports than 21, but now it's been happening more and more to sites on port 21, since the upgrade to version 3.X. I'm running 2.0 as a backup version because that one has no trouble whatsoever connecting to the sites the 3.4 version gets a list error on.

* already tried:
- Passive / Active -> no difference
- Firewall On / Off -> no difference
- STAT -L -> no list error, yet no file transfer going on (keeps hanging on 0 KB/s)
- Running FlashFXP 2.0 -> eureka, all is well.. yet I like 3.4 to do the same.

- Passive / Active -> no differenceif you get an error with pasv mode is on, that means that ftp server is also misconfigured.
- STAT -L -> no list error, yet no file transfer going on (keeps hanging on 0 KB/s)it works becuase server is sending dir list over control connection. it has nothing to do with file transfer or normal dir list.
- Running FlashFXP 2.0 -> eureka, all is well.. yet I like 3.4 to do the same.many firewalls have application rules based on filename AND unique hash for each file, or even if you have 2 flashfxp.exe, one from 2.0 and one from 3.4, unless you explicitly create rules for 3.4, your firewall will not properly allow flashfxp to work.
[R] PORT 192,168,1,10,9,104
[R] 200 PORT command successful F6, Connection, Data Connection, enable "Force Active Mode...". one that's configured try again, and if you have problems, post new session log.

if you get an error with pasv mode is on, that means that ftp server is also misconfigured.

The server is not. Other FTP clients (LeechFTP, SmartFTP etc.) can connect fine.
Plus it's not only this site. FlashFXP 2.0 doesn't have any problems.
It's pretty safe to say this problem is not server-sided, but client-sided.

it works becuase server is sending dir list over control connection. it has nothing to do with file transfer or normal dir list.

So we can rule out that option.

many firewalls have application rules based on filename AND unique hash for each file, or even if you have 2 flashfxp.exe, one from 2.0 and one from 3.4, unless you explicitly create rules for 3.4, your firewall will not properly allow flashfxp to work.

Firewall on or off, no difference.

F6, Connection, Data Connection, enable "Force Active Mode...". one that's configured try again, and if you have problems, post new session log.
I’m supposed to fill in my internal IP right ?
If so, no dice :(

I’m supposed to fill in my internal IP right ?no:) your internet ip should go there. if it's dynamic and changes often, you can just put http://iplookup.flashfxp.com and it will automaticly be converted to your internet ip.

Yarrr... no difference :(
I guess I'll uninstall 3.4 and re-register 2.0 or another < 3.4 version then.

I entered my IP and it didn't change a thing.
But when I tried iplookup.flashfxp.com it gave me a 500 error.

Oh man.. I just found out what the problem was.
There seem to be three states of "Use Passive mode" (WHY ??)
'checked' 'checked + grayed out' 'unchecked'
Somehow if I checked it + the gray it didn't use passive mode.

Strange, but it works now.
Geez. Thanks for the help MxxCon.

It would be extremely helpful to see a copy of the ftp session log for FlashFXP v2.0.

Also you may need to manually add FlashFXP v3.4 to the allow list for your firewall.

Some software firewalls have problems when you have multiple versions of a application with the same filename. So you might try renaming FlashFXP.exe to something else.
