Hi Bigstar,

I read about the RC1.5 and tried downloading it via LiveUpdate. When I try that it gives me the following... Error:Forbidden.

Why's this not working? It used to work for previous versions.

Which version/build are you using?

I tried it with 2.0RC1. A friend of mine used LiveUpdate to get 2.0RC1.5 and sent me that. But it still doesn't work

From the Liveupdate dialog click Options and make sure your proxy settings are correct.

My proxy settings are the same as for my webbrowser. For some reason the LiveUpdate site doesn't give me access to the flashfpx update file. I have no clue what the problem could be.

When I use direct connection (which should also work with my router which does full NAT) I get the same problem.

I am currently looking into this issue. It may have been fixed in RC2 but i'm not entirely sure.. If anyone wants to help me they can contact me ay support@flashfxp.com I have a test demo we can use to trouble shoot the problem.

I'm using RC2 now, and that didn't fix it. (downloaded it from the website)

I'm using WinXP... dunno if that's helpful

Ralf vd Enden if you've got time to help me test this demo please email me at the email address above. It would be a big help.

Bigstar,

Could you let me know when the Live Update fix has been implemented please. I'm running RC2 865 at the moment which doesn't fix the problem.

Remember that test demo I had you try?
It uses the same code found in build 862 and up.

The test demo worked fine for you and so should the FlashFXP LiveUpdate. Now I am clueless as to why FlashFXP doesn't.

So am I. The test program worked perfect both with and without proxy. I also tried deleting my FlashFXP.ini, but didn't help either. I'll stick to downloading stable releases... it's no biggy.

Thanks for the support.

Out of curiosity do you have any software firewall programs, like Norton Internet Security or Zone Alarm. If not configured correctly they could block the LiveUpdate checking.

I have a LinkSys Cable/DSL router with 8-port switch. I put my linux box into DMZ and the other machines on my LAN can connect to the internet through NAT. I can play several internet games from this windows machine without trouble, so my guess is it isn't the router.

Before I got the hardware router (which was about a month ago), my linux box was acting as software router. Had the same problem then.

Just out of curiousity I installed FFXP at work. Live Update works fine there, even though the router there is more restrictive.

The only ports my router is blocking are 137-139, but those are used solely by the NetBios protocol.

I'll try and figure out where things go wrong by skimming through my proxy logs. Maybe that'll clear things up.

Sorry bigstar,

I just found out why Live Update wasn't working. Ad Muncher (a pop-up and ad remover tool) was missing a line in it's configuration so FlashFXP wouldn't be filtered. I found out by accident AM was causing me (and prolly you) the nightmares.

Sorry for wasting your time. Wont happen again :)
