I had met this problem many times, especially with some ftp server:

[R] 150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for xxxxx
[R] 426 Data connection: Illegal seek.
[R] Transfer Failed!

I searched the forum before, someone said its the problem of PASV, problem of server, etc. I tried their solutions, in some special case, to enable " use site ip for passive mode connections" can make it work, but recently all of these failed.

I believed it's something related to flashfxp, because I can always find another ftp client to download same file without problem. But sometimes these other clients fail too. I used totalcommander, flashget, and now leapftp. Leapftp is downloading properly now. But I wish I can fix the problem and use my flashfxp again.

My first thought is were you resuming a file?

If yes, How big is the file and at what possion did FlashFXP try to resume from?

Otherwise can you please give more details about the ftp server and the file.

I have seen this error before and it had nothing to do with FlashFXP or any other client for that matter. With me it always had to do with corrupted filesystems on the server side. The 426 line is also a server side line which says "there's something wrong at my side". I can be wrong though, since bigstar didn't think right of this, but these are my experiences with it.

since dracodoc did not provide actual command that was sent before "426", bigstar is thinking that ftp server does not support REST or RETR on files over 2 or 4gig in size
